negative ken

Through the wonders of craigstlist, Negative Ken was formed in 2003 in New York City.  Hunting for someplace to use his newly minted drum skill, Lee posted an add and Jamie answered the call, guitar in hand.  Not long after, Bay and his thundering bass joined the cause.  Sometime that year before the band's first public gig in December 2003 at the now defunct Orange Bear in Tribeca, the name Negative Ken became official.  We think it fits the pop/punk/rock sound of the band.

With roots as a cover tribute band, the guys (led by Bay) penned a number of original lyrics that make up the bulk of the first LP, "Harder Than It Looks."

Since its formation, Negative Ken have been playing shows in NYC at the Orange Bear (R.I.P.), Suite XVI, Snitch, Arlene's Grocery, Don Hill's and the occasional private birthday bash.
